Desperate to see: the Joy Dare {#49 – 69} Breathe

Believe

By Jennifer On January 24, 2012 · 4 Comments · In Faith, Truth, Words in Me

I believe, Father, that Your word lives and breathes, that it is action, not static upon the page.  I believe it is for me, truth that guides me and sustains me.  I believe that it is Your whisper of love, letters for me.

I believe You speak, that You continue to press me up close to Your heart.  You are not far away, but a Protector, a Father who gathers me up and lets me stay nestled close, at Your feet.

I believe You pour out blessing upon blessing, grace upon grace, that Your Spirit flows in me, empowers me, Your child, daughter, student, beloved.  I believed I am Your beloved.

I believe You will keep me open, for You, for what You have for me, for the blessings You lay before me, none that I deserve.  And I believe You will inspire, Father.  These two words — openness and inspiration — the gifts You remind me You give again and again.

I hold close the treasure of Your living word in me, as You speak, loving action leaping off a page:

You know my delight is in you.  Openness to Me, for all I have, for all I have already put before you.  Be open to the present gifts.  Open them up — a daughter blooming, a boy searching, a boy wanting . . . , words of giving.  My delight is you being open to Me — for what I have, for My will in you.  Open to the dance, to celebrate, to stay with Me, in the garden, rushing river, waterfall and all.

And don’t I inspire you?  Doesn’t all goodness, all joy, come from Me?  Don’t seek elsewhere for inspiration.  I am all you need.  I deepen your love with Me.  I inspire you to walk closer, breathe Me in more deeply, savor moments of openness.

Stay.

Claim it, lay it down now. . . What are one or two truths you believe?

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

This is the core of all I am and all I believe.

Christ lives in me. I am worthy. I am loved.

Just finished listening to John and Louie – in lessons from Louie at your church – thank you for introducing me to that, what a pleasure to listen to, what a joy, encouraging.  Thank you Jen.

    What a beautiful creed.

“I believe You will keep me open, for You, for what You have for me…”

Isn’t this the hardest part of prayer? To be open to what He has chosen for us, not knowing what that road might be, but trusting in His guiding hand.
