I swoop around the house, grabbing clothes shed onto the floor, dishes off the counter, rinsing and loading them into the dishwasher.
The morning rays illuminate the kitchen. I am grateful for His presence here.
My husband and I have an appointment at the coffee shop — my laptop leaning back against his.
Just like it used to be, before kids, when we shared a little antique table for a desk in our student housing in NYC.
This is real life.
We remember, together, the dreams He has placed on our hearts, to listen, to get it down in words, to carry on this love language He presses in, this gift, so we can’t help but let it out or fear it will explode.
This life.
The dreams of today melt into yesterday’s and I grab them, collect them with the scattered chaos around me. Seize this love language, the lovely messes of all the unknowns and claim them for this gift, this life, today.
Love these Fridays when I just run with the prompt– for 5 minutes — given by Lisa-Jo, at The Gypsy Mama. Would you like to join me and link up, too?

Beautiful words! It reminds me of the beauty of life and God's love. Even in the chaos of chores and to-do lists, God is there and God loves us. Or maybe we are there in the midst of God rather than him being in the midst of us. We are in the life God gave us.

Beautiful, every week. How I love to read your blog. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. These lines particularly resonated with me today.
We remember, together, the dreams He has placed on our hearts, to listen, to get it down in words, to carry on this love language He presses in, this gift, so we can’t help but let it out or fear it will explode.
Right now I am letting out the first of many written dreams he has placed on my heart, because I know I have to, I know so deeply that feeling of exploding. Thank you for encouraging me, and reminding me in the moment of doubt, that I am doing what He has asked. Thank you. Have a great weekend.

Dear Nics, Yes, lean into those words He gives you! Trust them! That partnering with Him is what gives us life. We are all blessed. Thank you, sweet friend.

Oh, I love date days (and nights!) with the husband…remembering life before we had kids and reconnecting in big ways.
Great place you have here.

Dear Amy, I just visited your blog, (which I love!) not knowing you had been over here! How fun! Yes, it is so great to be intentional and remember what brought us together with our spouses. And the day thing seems extra special, somehow! :) Bless you!

The moments you shared were so special, so "intimate", I almost felt as though I was intruding. Such beauty and love, such real life.
Thank you for allowing us to peek in and be blessed-

What school did you go to in NYC? I lived up there for a little while too. LOVE manhattan!
http://www.youaremygirls.com oneofHisgirls
Hi Katie, We moved to Manhattan from Philadelphia (where my husband was in law school) and lived there for a year while he worked as a lawyer. I decided to go back to school and attended grad school at Teacher's College, at Columbia. Such a fun year in that city! I miss it so! I can't wait to get our three kids there to experience it with them! Have you taken your kids there yet? Did you live there before you got married?

My first visit to your blog from the 5 Minute Friday. The first thing I read when I popped in was the paragraph under your picture on your sidebar. I about cried. Next, I immediately followed you on Facebook and subscribed in RSS.
So now, I love your post. What a beautiful display of love between you and your husband. I love that you make "appointments".
Looking forward to getting to know more about you!

I love this: "Seize this love language, the lovely messes of all the unknowns and claim them for this gift, this life, today."
Winds of Happiness All new, all beautiful, all glorious, in worship of Him . . preparing for heights and love and . . . a wedding.
When Mother's Day is Hard "Today I reach out a hand to you my sisters, and for all women out there who find Mother’s Day to bring on a flood of emotions and feelings. It’s okay and it’s normal, and you are loved by an Almighty God no matter your circumstances."
Nail Polish, Bubbles, and $38 "I feel so helpless with my keyboard and blue nail polish and measly $38 sponsorship. But I also feel so happy that my $38 is made HUGE when it’s in the hands of Compassion International."
Pruning "If We Just" Statements "There is no ladder of motherhood success. There is no ultimate homemaker. No winner of the blogging world. No amazing wife of the year. And yet, we hold this if we just bar up high for ourselves and often cut ourselves short in what we did do."
Calling All Weary Women "Are you a weary mom or an anxious woman out there like me? One who sometimes hits overload and has to put a halt to people’s demands and requests? Have you hit a desperate place in your life, and you are carrying the weight of worry on your shoulders?"
